'Restore Honor' Huh? Not Like This!

Posted by Jeffrey K Radt ("JRed") | Posted in , , , , , , , , , | Posted on Monday, August 30, 2010

We begin with the truth that matters most...

2 Corinthians 4:4 (KJV) The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

There are other verses I could've used that are just as appropriate, but that seemed like the best one. Leave it to the Lord to deliver an answer to a heated debate from this past week with an event that served as an exclamation point to everything that was being contested.

The disagreement? It all started when I posted the following Status Message on Facebook...

"My concern and problem with the Tea Party Movement? What? You thought ALL CHRISTIANS tacitly approved? Look, we are supposed to be Christians first, Patriots second. That's the hierarchy we're supposed to follow. We are to love the Bible first, the US Constitution second. We are to love God first, love this country (anything else) second."

I immediately followed that up with a comment of my own that said...

"I just think we need to be careful here. I'm not saying we shouldn't contend for and defend the truth wherever and whenever we see it being attacked. We most certainly should! Duty (always starting with prayer) is ours, and the results (whatever they might be) belongs to God. Still, we need to remember that it's an anti-government movement, not a pro-God movement. It's about flags, not crosses."

Well, that certainly didn't go over too well with some of my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ whom I cherish dearly. If I include any of their comments here, then it's only to help clarify the points I want to make in this piece today (and not to point the finger at them or to keep any kind of debate going).

Here's that conversation -- in full -- so that you can understand where I'm coming from...

"Yes, very true. We should always pray for those over us in authority and being in America that means our politicians as well. We should pray for our country. We just need to make sure we remember the order of priority--God first in all things." Tam

"I don't get Christians who put their earthly citizenship first before their heavenly one. If we put God first, I think we would love the people in this country better and those around the world better as well. We don't want to repeat the mistakes of the Christians in 1930 Germany, who didn't know their Scriptures and put the German government before God. Then once they were indoctrinated into the movement, they realized - Oh, Hitler isn't Christian after all - by then, it was too late." Janet

"earthly citizenship is because even greatest nation ever assembled is separation of church and state as god knew it takes time for submission for even civilization takes time to grow from pyramid bricks to media enlightening the earth- town to town- nation to nation- now all earth's children within melting pot of contradictions- atheism or theism- mosques or strip clubs as churches find vacancies in land of freedom in every endeavor as its purpose was to document in real time by media negative behavior by offspring when lead astray(how to make sodom and gomorah in real time). bless the baby boom generation to have been free love hippie guinea pigs- many born again from fire- may enough gather and lead gay parade of deviants to glory- or simply let global nuke war help survivors with discipline to submit for future. America was never a christian nation by uniform agreement- nor Germany as Jews kept separate as muslims buddists and atheists etc do so here." Sami

"I'm an organizer with the local Tea Party; I can honestly say we DO put God first. Every meeting, every event, starts with prayer. Jesus did say 'Occupy until I come,' and we're doing what we can to keep the evil at bay until He calls His own to Himself." Arlene

"It is really sad when a political movement does a better job at exposing the moral decay of this nation than the church. Ostrich Christianity is in no way shape or form Christ-Like, nor does it expose the need for a savior. But I guess when the salvation message gets watered down to repeat after me and go dunk yourself in water and we teach that as salvation; eliminating the need for true repentance. Then I guess ostrich Christianity becomes the lifestyle of choice. I believe God calls it spiritual harlotry." Corey

"How the church rolled over without a fight and allowed this into office. It is a sad, sad deal. WATCH THIS." Corey

"‎'Ostrich Christianity'? Why? Because I disagree with you and choose to rely on the Lord's power and will over human power and will? That's like calling me a 'racist' because I disagree with the Obama administration's policies, which I do by the way. I'm not suggesting you stop doing what you're doing. All I said is that we need to be careful and discerning Christians here especially in this late and urgent hour when we know that DECEPTION is a hallmark of the end times.

Arlene/Corey, I'm not saying ALL Christian members of the Tea Party are guilty of this (of not having their priorities in line), but far too many are. I guess I just have a different view on it. I think of Daniel and the times he lived in. I think of the Apostles and the times they lived in. Did they concern themselves with politics or preaching? Personally, I think that if we focused more on the latter, then this world wouldn't have so many False Converts -- many of which who voted for Obama. Maybe that's the problem. Maybe there are too many False Converts polluting a legitimate political movement -- those who think they're Christians but are really the ones spoken of in Matthew 7:22-23.

My point is how many Christians in the Tea Party movement are truly relying on God for direction individually? I'm glad that every meeting starts with prayer, and I'm sure all meetings are like that across the country, but I just pray that EVERY MEMBER AND PARTICIPANT (those who calls themselves a Christian) never say a single word, or take a single action, before asking God for guidance through prayer.

Then again, we all know that there will come a time when God's will for this nation -- for the world -- in the fulfillment of His prophecies for the end times will come to pass no matter what we say or do, right? Maybe this is that time.

No, it doesn't mean we stop being responsible Christians. Corey, if you really think I'm guilty of 'Ostrich Christianity', then you haven't been reading or listening what the Lord has had me doing these past few months. I agree with the Tea Party's platform almost across the board. I'm just saying we need to exercise caution and discernment here.

Some interesting notes about Daniel...A holy man held against his will in a hostile land, keeps his faith, loves God, and rises to power. Daniel is about how people of faith are supposed to survive, and even prosper, in an alien land. It's about how we maintain our identity when society wants to erase it. And it's about how we must find strength in small groups. In short, Daniel is a manual for surviving in the face of tyranny.

What's the constant theme? Faith! He (they/Jews) won't assimilate or betray God -- no matter what! But do they fight? No, they exhibit a faith that can move mountains even if it's God's will that they shall lose their lives in the process! Remember the Fiery Furnace? Lion's Den? Of course, right?

I'll wrap this commentary up by saying that I'm not saying we shouldn't protest in the process of contending for and defending the faith/truth wherever we find it being attacked, but I just have a sense that things could turn violent really quickly, and if that's the case that's a whole new discussion. Thanks for your thoughts and God bless you!"
Me (Jeff/JRed)

"Jeff at least you are willing to stand up and speak your mind. And it seems you are not afraid to challenge the status quo. Our nation is in the situation it is in because God's people got complacent in this nation. We took our eyes off God and decided to eat drink and be merry and got in bed with world pursuing our own interest and not God's. We will voice our opinions about our favorite sports teams or our favorite American Idol contestant at the workplace but forbid we represent or share the word of God or the message of the cross. If the church denominations could have got in unity and made a stand for a return to Godly morals and held rallies like the tea party is doing then maybe we would not have this yahoo making a mockery of the presidency and God. I tried to rally the church denominations a year before Obamma was elected into office and they treated me like a outcast. Now we have a nut in office mocking God to judge this nation and the church still refuses to get off their blessed ASS-urance and do anything. No wonder judgment is going to start with the house of God." Corey

"Corey, I couldn't agree with your last comment more. Right on! Amen my brother! Sad, but so true, isn't it? I'm sorry to hear that you were rebuked for speaking the truth. At least you were obedient to the Lord." Me (Jeff/JRed)

"Of course, the Lord comes first, but Jesus said, 'Occupy 'till I come.' Are we supposed to roll over, play dead, and let the Occupier of the Oval Office & his Muslim compatriots just take over America?" Arlene

"Arlene, unfortunately I think the real issue is the church leadership of America has chosen the way of Balem the prophet. They have fallen away from teaching the whole counsel of God for the love of money. Jesus said you can not serve two masters. So now the the pulpits of America are full of of a bunch of peacekeepers instead of peacemakers who won't take a stand for anything especially God or God's moral law. Peacemakers go to war for what they believe in and peacekeepers don't want to offend anybody. Jesus was a peacemaker who was not afraid to get in the face of evil and call it how He saw it knowing it would offend the ones He had come to save, and it would eventually cost Him His life. Today our pastors, who claim to be sent by God, refuse to follow Christ example that He set for us, and by their very actions deny Christ and teach others to do the same. They are a bunch of ravenous wolves in sheeps clothing who have become ensnared by their lustful cravings, their covetous heart, their precious reputations, and their spiritual harlotry. Not only is America in real trouble but so are the churches. Unless revival comes again to the churches of America and the people of God truly repent and turn away from the sin in their lives and seek the Lord with all their heart to knows His ways and walk in them, then this nation and the churches are destined for destruction, or else God is going to owe Sodom and Gommorah and the old testament Jews a apology." Corey

"Corey, I agree - the churches are basically licensed by the State - wouldn't want to lost that tax exempt status, after all! :o( The churches aren't concerned with truth - they're concerned with money. It's rare anymore to hear a sermon about the cross, about the blood of Jesus, or about living a holy & righteous life....yet how often do they talk about tithing? (A subject which, as Alister Begg points out, one would be hard-pressed to find in the NT.) Care about souls? Hardly - their priority is a bigger & better building, a six million dollar parking lot, a nicer car for the pastor, and - in the case of the 'pulpit pimps'you see on TV - a newer, faster private jet and a bigger mansion. To be honest, I've seen more spirituality and genuine love of the Lord and of the brethren at Tea Party meetings (at least in this area) than I have at any of the churches I've visited in the past few years." Arlene

I know that was LENGTHY (so thanks for being patient and for reading), but I thought it was a fantastic discussion amongst the Body of Christ, and one that we all need to be having right now (especially after what happened this past weekend), which is why I decided to post it in full for you to read and prayerfully consider.

Not to pick on Arlene and her last comment, but are we REALLY seeing "more spirituality and genuine love of the Lord" at these Tea Party events? Sure, it's possible. I mean, I'll admit that I've never been to one myself so I can't say for sure with any kind of authority.

However, I did hear, and read, and see all the things coming from the "Restore Honor" (which has somehow become synonymous with the thought to "Restore America") rally put on by Glenn Beck a couple of days ago and I have to tell you that I didn't like a majority of it. So, if that is representative of what most Tea Party rallies are like, then I think my concerns have been validated some.

Plus, we all know that Beck is a Mormon. Is his god REALLY the same as the God we believe in? Are his religious views REALLY the same as ours? No and no. Sorry, I'm getting a little ahead of myself here.

Here's a quick summary in case you've been living under a rock somewhere...

Glenn Beck On Fox News Sunday w/Chris Wallace (PART 1)

Glenn Beck On Fox News Sunday w/Chris Wallace (PART 2)

Since the majority (including the event's organizers as well as many of you who read this blog and who listen to RNR weekly) are calling this a religious "Christian" event, then we better make damn sure that the things said and seen there (yes, even those things the speakers themselves purport to believe) are COMPLETELY CONSISTENT with what our faith teaches.

I'll just cut to the chase here. Why are we seeing a number of high-profile conservative icons taking positions that put them COMPLETELY off base, and in DIRECT OPPOSITION TO THE WORD OF GOD, when it comes to the radical homosexual agenda!?! By doing so, aren't they showing their true colors? Aren't they hypocrites like all the rest? Isn't this further proof of what we've been trying to say all along for months now about the mainstream media being complicit in trying to generate cultural, social, and political unrest to help to advance an "Order Out of Chaos" blueprint for this nation? You bet it is!

I'll give you a few key examples. Believe it or not, one popular conservative commentator who this applies to is Ann Coulter. She has agreed to speak at the "Homocon 2010" conference, which is sponsored by the group known as GOProud. GOProud supports domestic partnerships and homosexual so-called “marriage”, and it also supports homosexualizing the American military by repealing “don't ask, don't tell'” too.

Let’s get one thing straight. GOProud is NOT a conservative group, even though they call themselves a traditional conservative organization, for the same reasons you can't just call yourself a Christian unless your walk matches your talk. Fortunately, Joseph Farah from WorldNetDaily took Coulter to task and decided to drop her from an event they were hosting, so good for them.

But what is going on here? Why does someone that most conservative Christians view as being an extension of them, a public voice for their feelings on the various issues, decide to speak an an event that encourages and supports the very things that we are against, and the very things that we thought she was against too? Could it be for the love of money perhaps? Regardless, she's not the only one I'm afraid.

The voice of "conservative moral values" and the "political Right" supporting anything homosexual!?! No, it can't be! Sadly, it can. As revealing as that news about Coulter was, Rush Limbaugh was also way off base to pay Elton John $1 million to play at his recent wedding.

That's right! Elton John, although an extremely talented musician, is also a hardcore homosexual activist. He has said some preposterous things like how Jesus would support homosexuality, and so for “El Rushbo” to sort of just ignore that is very, very troubling to me! It's the height of hypocrisy, isn't it?

But wait! There’s one more major voice from the conservative side of the aisle that needs to be called out here. All anyone’s been talking about the past few few days is Glenn Becks’s historic and unprecedented “Restoring Honor” event from this past weekend in front of the Lincoln Memorial in DC.

Guess what? The guy’s a fraud too! He’s a hypocrite like the others I just mentioned! And what I’m about to share with you is proof that we can’t allow ourselves to get too swept up in the emotional side of any political debate, or get to a place where our allegiances lie with mere men and women because then our allegiance and loyalty to God first is threatened.

Most would agree that Glenn Beck is viewed as being a true blue “conservative”, the "beacon of light and truth" for morality in a culture of immorality, and one who is a "staunch ally" of the Tea Party Movement. Do we all agree on that?

Are you sitting down? Beck recently told Bill O'Reilly that he does not care about the homosexual "marriage" issue as long as it does not affect him! He said the following...

"I believe that Thomas Jefferson said, 'If it neither breaks my leg, nor picks my pocket, what difference is it to me.’"

Oh, ok, sure. And this is the guy everyone is applauding for organizing the "Restore Honor" rally (a supposedly "spiritual" rally with God at the center) over the weekend!?! Personally, I think it's appalling that Glenn Beck says that homosexual so-called "marriage" does not rise to a national issue, and that it was said just a few days prior to this hyped "religious" event. Gimme a break!

Of course it's going to affect freedom, and, of course it's going to affect children. And for Glenn Beck, a national conservative leader (just like the others called out here today), to be seemingly ignorant of the threat of the homosexual agenda is just astonishing. If Beck is deadly serious about "restoring America", and about getting back to our basic moral, religious, and spiritual foundations, then he must -- HE MUST -- adhere to those Christian tenets that speak directly to those things. Otherwise, he's no better than those he's claiming to be speaking out against, right?

Below is an EXCELLENT article by Brannon Howse about Glenn Beck’s "Divine Destiny" gathering. This article is definitely A MUST-READ, especially for those Christians who still mix politics (the affairs of this world) with the church (the affairs of God)...

Following Glenn Beck’s Divine Destiny Or God’s Word?
By Brannon S. Howse

Would you approve or disapprove if some of America’s evangelical pastors and religious leaders announced they were going to show up at "Oprah’s Divine Destiny" meeting at the Kennedy Center for an evening that would include uplifting music and nationally-known religious figures from all faiths as they unite in prayer and recite historical speeches? Would it concern you if you knew that on her radio program Oprah has taught the book called A Course in Miracles written by Helen Schucman? This book and the workbook include such quotes as:

"A slain Christ has no meaning."
"The recognition of God is the recognition of yourself."
"Do not make the pathetic error of ‘clinging to the old rugged cross’."
"My salvation comes from me."

True Bible-believing Christians would not approve of evangelical pastors and leaders uniting with Oprah in a self-described, religious and spiritual meeting. Why? Because most Biblically thinking Christians do not agree with Oprah’s liberal politics and they know that the truth of God’s Word and Oprah’s pagan spirituality do not mix.

However, many of these same Christians will have no problem when some of America’s evangelical pastors join radio personality and television host Glenn Beck for a spiritual program, because unlike Oprah, they share Beck’s conservative, political views. To many it makes no matter that Beck is a self-described Mormon because his political views trump his religious views and for this reason many will justify taking part in “Glenn Becks Divine Destiny” program at the Kennedy Center on August 27th.

The Apostle Paul warns Christians against uniting with unbelievers in spiritual endeavors in 2 Corinthians 6:14 where we read, “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?” In verse 16 Paul declares that Christians must be spiritually separate from non-believers. Remember Paul is talking about being spiritually separate. “Glenn Beck’s Divine Destiny” program at the Kennedy Center on Friday evening August 27, 2010 has been specifically described by organizers as “a unique spiritual event.”

While I applaud and agree with many of Glenn Beck’s conservative and constitutional views, that does not give me or any other Bible-believing Christian justification to compromise Biblical truth by spiritually joining Beck in an event, that according this his own website, will include an evening in which “nationally-known religious figures from all faiths will unite…”. The website continues “The audience for the event will be overwhelmingly made up of pastors, ministers and clergy…” The event is also described as an evening “that will help heal your soul.” This event is clearly a spiritual event with Glenn declaring on a video on his website that the hymn Eternal Father Strong to Save “is the message of 8/27″. The problem is that as a Mormon, Glenn’s definition of God the Father is not the same as that described by Jesus Christ Himself in the Bible. Glenn says, “I have been reaching out to the biggest names in faith for the last year…I have met with the biggest leaders of faith in the country privately and I have asked them to help me put differences aside and to reach out with one another so we can remind people to get down on their knees for our brethren’s shield in our dangerous hour.”

Christians that want to be committed to Biblical truth cannot “put aside” the cross and Gospel of Jesus Christ nor the supremacy of Scripture by spiritually uniting with those that proclaim another Jesus, another gospel and declare the cross foolishness.

Many American Christians will allow their commitment to reclaiming the country, reclaiming Congress, lowering taxes, and defeating the progressives trump their commitment to the Biblical mandate declared in 2 Corinthians 6 as well as the mandate of 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 which commands Christians to expose every high and lofty thing lifted up against the principles of the Lord.

American Christians should not and cannot rate our success on whether or not we return our country and culture to its Christian roots. Our success or failure must be based on whether or not we have been faithful servants of the one and only true God and have earnestly contended for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints (Jude 3).

We appreciate the strong and courageous stands that Glenn has taken but Christians must understand that Glenn is now, by his own choice, promoting something that is not compatible with Biblical Christian doctrines. While Christians can join Glenn in opposing tyranny, socialism, cultural Marxism, and the like; we cannot join him spiritually. We can be co-belligerents on many moral issues with non-Christians but we cannot find common ground theologically, doctrinally, and spiritually. This is not according to me, Brannon Howse, but according to the Word of God. Christians must understand that the Jesus of the cults is not the Jesus of the Bible.

Please remember that I started the website to support Glenn when the radicals wanted his advertisers to stop advertising in his program because at the time he was not promoting spirituality but simply providing excellent information about what was happening in the arena of civil government and law. However, Glenn has now moved into an area where we must draw a clear line theologically, doctrinally and spiritually.

I have yet to see anything that would cause me to have a problem with the 8-28 event at the Lincoln Memorial because I have not seen that event described as a “spiritual event” or a “uniting of all faiths” for the purpose of “healing your soul.” If that is what it becomes then I will be equally opposed to the 8-28 event. My concern is really focused on the 8/27 event for the reasons I have articulated.

Some misinformed Christians have e-mailed me Mark 9:38-41 to try and convince me that partnering with Glenn Beck for a “unique spiritual event” is acceptable Biblically even if Glenn Beck is not a Christian, but indeed a Mormon by his own admission. Verse 40 says “For he who is not against us is on our side.” There is just one big problem; the people emailing me this verse are taking this scripture completely out of context. Mark 9 is not speaking of a non-Christian that is doing something good but it is clearly speaking of a true follower of Jesus Christ that was successful in casting out a demon.

If you do not think it is Biblically acceptable for a Biblically committed Christian to be united in a spiritual event with Oprah Winfrey then why is it not also unacceptable to unite spiritually in the 8/27 event with Glenn Beck or any other religious leaders that do not adhere to Biblical orthodoxy? How much different are the religious beliefs of Oprah and the beliefs of Mormons? Christian author Ed Decker who was a Mormon for 20 years of his adult life and was a member of the Melchizedek priesthood, a Temple Mormon and active in many church positions before becoming a Christian has revealed to me such facts as:

> Mormons believe the cross of Christ is foolishness and thus you will not find a cross in or on top of a Mormon temple. Thus a Mormon could say “Do not make the pathetic error of ‘clinging to the old rugged cross’.”

> Mormons believe the blood Jesus Christ shed on the cross is not what saves and thus Mormons will not use red wine or red juice for communion but they use water. Thus a Mormon could say “A slain Christ has no meaning.”

> Mormons believe that salvation is not found in placing your faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone but in good works. Thus a Mormon could say “My salvation comes from me.”

> Mormons believe that God is one of many Gods and that every good Mormon man can become a God himself. This belief is called the law of eternal progression and is best described in this popular Mormon saying, “As man is, God once was, and as God is, man may become.” Thus a Mormon could say that “The recognition of God is the recognition of yourself.”

Do these pastors and Christian leaders not understand that by appearing on stage at this “unique spiritual event” they are sending the message that Biblical Christianity and Mormonism (and any other unbiblical worldview represented) can indeed find spiritual common ground? This is not only a public relations victory for Mormonism but also for universalism.

According to the LDS General Authority and President of the Council of the Twelve, Ezra Taft Benson, the LDS doctrine is that the living prophet is above the scripture.[1] I would humbly plead with those Christians taking part in this spiritual event to not put their own personal desires and agenda above the scripture.

Christians e-mail me to tell me that Glenn Beck uses Christian terms and thus he must be a Christian. Indeed Mormons, as well as New Agers, use many of the same terms that Bible believing Christians use but their definitions of those terms are in direct opposition to the Biblical definitions.

Christians also e-mail me to tell me that they heard Glenn Beck give the gospel on his television program one night. I watched that program and Glenn clearly stated that he had called Richard Land of the Southern Baptist Convention to have Land explain to Glenn the gospel message according to evangelicals so Glenn could contrast it with the collective salvation of President Obama. Glenn provided this contrast; he did not state that he had rejected Mormonism for the truth of the Biblical gospel.

It is not Biblically acceptable for Christians to join Oprah for “a unique spiritual event” and it is equally not Biblical for Christians to join Glenn Beck for “a unique spiritual event.” I do however urge all Christians to pray for Oprah and Glenn that they may indeed come to know the Jesus Christ of the Bible as their personal Lord and Savior. (John 14:6)

Millions of Christian families are watching to see who will have the Biblical discernment and courage to be obedient to God and His Word in which He has clearly revealed His will for us concerning this matter. My heart grieves for the teenagers, college students, and spiritually immature Christians that will be confused and even led astray by this co-mingling of spiritual worldviews.

Do not be shocked, pastors and Christian leaders, when your personal appearance and endorsement of this spiritually pluralistic event increase the already rising numbers of young people leaving evangelical churches to join the Mormon Church. Neither be surprised, my friends, when discerning Christians are leery of your future work because of your betrayal of clear Biblical instruction on this very issue. I want your testimony and credibility preserved and beg you to graciously cancel your participation in this “spiritual event”.

I have received numerous e-mails from former Mormons who understand the seriousness of this issue. Here is one such e-mail:

I was a tenured professor at Brigham Young University from 1999-2008, a dug-in Mormon for 30 years. Christ drew me and I went face down in surrender to the Biblical Christ, now a strong Christian. As former Mormon leaders, my husband and I have been speaking to Christians about Glenn Beck for some time and are shocked at the resistance we hear from Christians who don’t seem to understand the gravity of this false and slippery “christ” of Mormonism.

The late Vance Havner was correct when he declared:

The devil is not fighting religion; he is too smart for that. He is producing a counterfeit Christianity so much like the real one that good Christians are afraid to speak out against it.

As long ago as 1898, Abraham Kuyper warned in the Stone Lectures at Princeton:

Do not forget that the fundamental contrast has always been, is still and always will be until the end; Christianity and Paganism, the idols and the living God.

I pray that America’s Christians and pastors will understand that there is an unbiblical and dangerous spiritual convergence taking place throughout the nation and the world and today is the day to choose whether you will uncompromisingly stand for the living God or give creditability to pagan spirituality.

In I Kings 18:20-21 Elijah declared to the Children of Israel, who were seeking to follow God while also mixing their worship of God with pagan spirituality, that they must choose to whom they would pledge their allegiance. Elijah asked the Israelites “How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.”

Yes, I would like to see the progressives defeated and the original intent of America’s Founding Fathers restored, but that certainly will not happen if the true Bride of Christ compromises on Biblical truth. This is no time to be committed to pragmatism because the end does not justify the means. The means simply declares our priorities and Whom we really serve.

How spot on was that?

Howse is the voice of truth in the wilderness here, and I pray that Christians will start to look at all of this stuff in a different light now -- from a truly Biblical and Christian perspective.

It's astonishing, even confusing to some, how so many so-called "conservative Christians" can act and say such things that are so inconsistent with their proclaimed faith. That's only until you consider that this is nothing more than what we’ve been saying it is for months now -- it's "political theater" designed to deceive and distract you from what’s really important like developing your relationship with Jesus Christ. It’s a dichotomy where Democrats-Republicans, the Left-the Right, Liberals-Conservatives – they’re both 2 sides to the SAME sinister coin!

We're also seeing the Tea Party being hijacked by the Republican Party -- just as some of us were worried about for quite some time now. On my local CBS News affiliate TV station here in Buffalo, NY, their coverage of Saturday's event in DC had placed a (T) next to Sarah Palin's name when they showed her speaking.

Say what you will about Ron Paul, but he got it right with his comments about this the other day...

Ron Paul’s Shocking Message To The Tea Party

Ron Paul has some surprising news for the Tea Party: You’re being taken for a ride.

At least this is what many libertarians like Ron Paul believe when they see someone like Glenn Beck or Sarah Palin trying to lead the Tea Party at the “restoring honor” rally this weekend. In fact, Ron Paul believes, if you’re looking for real freedom, you should really go back to the core of the constitution and the bill of rights, which Beck and Palin do not fully endorse when you really look at their beliefs.

Whether it be Palin’s support for starting more wars or Beck’s beliefs on paying the private Federal Reserve MORE interest on our money by means of a VAT tax.

Ron Paul believes in neither of the above.

Please read his full comments by clicking that link.

See, again, that's the problem here. It's not just an anti-Democrat, or anti-Liberal, movement taking place in this country. It's an anti-establishment and anti-incumbent movement, but it's also masquerading as a "Christian" movement with "all of the answers to what's wrong in this country and politics today", but we are not sovereign, are we? No! Only God Almighty is sovereign!

That's my primary concern. A love for country is supplanting a love for Christ. It's a subtle form of deception, but its source is that Subtle Serpent himself, after all, so what do you expect?

My secondary concern is that it will lead to violence in the streets resulting in a bloody revolution. Again, this is precisely what The-Powers-That-Be are counting on! Don't you see that they're just looking for any excuse to "drop the hammer" on us now that we've already been classified as "domestic, homegrown, right-wing terrorists" in our own country? You bet they are!

If you're inclined to think that such a scenario is absurd, then please allow me to educate you about one such national group called the "Guardians of the Free Republics" that I just found out about even though they've been making some BIG NEWS on this front for the past several months going back to April. In fact, they were involved in a pretty serious story although I don't seem to recall ever hearing about it until now. I'm beginning to wonder if that's all by design. Keep reading.

Ironically enough, their great plan for this country is also called "Restore America", which begs the question: Who Does The Mainstream Media Really Work For? I pray that you all know that I'm being facetious since we should all know the answer to that one. But again, this further illustrates my case that we're witnessing "political theater" amped up by a corporate media that's beholden to either side of the political aisle (beholden to Satan too).

How many people do you think have Googled "Restore America" hoping to find info on Beck's rally, and instead they're directed to page after page of info on this group that not only advocates "removal by force" at this stage, but one that also claims it has the backing of factions of the US military for ex-military personnel? Was that the point all along? Because I'm willing to bet that more than a handful of those people who stumbled upon these "Guardians of the Free Republics" are itching to sign-up and become a member now that they're sky high following Saturday's exercise in populist politics under the banner of Christianity.

In any event, here's a sampling to familiarize yourself with this group and why they were in the news a few months back (again, how did we miss this until now?)...

Restore America Project: De Jure Grand Jury (3/29/2010)

CNN: Restore America Plan Re-Declaration (4/2/2010)

50 US Governors Must Resign!?!

Letters To Governors Contain No Specific Threats

Again, how did we miss this?

Of course, nothing happened despite the legitimate concerns by the federal authorities and the 3-day warning. Why not? Looking back, I'm surprised that nothing happened given how serious it apparently was. Then again, if this is what I suspect that it is, then a non-event isn't so surprising.

Something happened to delay the inevitable because make no mistake that I'm certain that groups like this will be at the forefront of the chaos, death, and destruction that's coming within this country as puppets whether they realize it or not.

Was it the BP Oil Spill and Gulf Crisis that occurred just 2-3 weeks later? Is the military buildup in that region (which continues to this day) the federal government's response to this "Restore America" plan? Was Fox News' Glenn Beck's "Restore Honor" rally a "go signal" and an indication that we are on the verge of some kind of False Flag event in this nation? I'm just asking.

Again, it just seems so odd that nothing happened despite the concerns and the very specific 3-day warning. I can't stop thinking that this is all coming up for a reason at this precise moment in time. If that's the case, then the "reason" remains to be seen. Still, let's not casually dismiss the threat of a "False Flag" event using this group (or others like it) as the vehicle to carry it out.

(2009) CNN: Feature On Oath Keepers And Guardians Of The Republic

Lies, lies, and more lies courtesy of the media.

As a Christian, it's good to know that there's a group such as the "Oath Keepers" out there who are made up of active police officers and military who plainly state that they will not carry out any tyrannical policies against their fellow American citizens.

Even so, as that 2009 news report clearly showed, you can see how the media has already started to demonize such groups perhaps because of what they MIGHT know will be their role in convicting such a group in the court of public opinion once something happens (i.e. False Flag) and they're charged as the main culprits in some future "attack" in this country against The-Powers-That-Be. Just a thought. I mean, how is this not stoking the flames of dissent in this country with all the "Civil War" talk?

False Flag On The Horizon?

Remember the "Christian terrorists" in the Hutaree Militia? The media didn't give it the same attention they did when that whole saga first broke, but we brought you the FACTS on Right Now Radio following Chuck Baldwin's report that the whole thing was a contrived media hoax!

By the way, in case you're wondering how we might start to see this meme emerge in the press in the very near future, I think we have to look no further than this local news report out of Indianapolis, IN, in which they go to great lengths to demonstrate a pattern of escalating "anti-government domestic terror attacks" on US soil...

The Media's Hit Piece One Anyone Who Is Anti-Anything Right Now

See what I mean? There it is for us in plain sight. Now, remember what we just discovered regarding the Hutaree Militia case because it's the SAME BLUEPRINT being used here.

For these reasons, this is why I keep saying that we MUST BE CAREFUL and simply EXERCISE DISCERNMENT when it comes to the current political climate in this country, and now any kind of "Restore America" and Tea Party rallies too.

It is imperative for us as believers in Christ to be EXPLICITLY CLEAR that even if we agree with people like Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, and Glenn Beck politically, we CANNOT agree with them spiritually when they differ from the precepts found in the Scriptures, and that distinction must be proclaimed as often and as loudly as we can to anyone and everyone who will listen.

1 John 4:1 (KJV) Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

As "UnprofitableServant" pointed out in one forum I regularly read, it's sad how far too many in this nation who profess to be "Christian" actually hang on to every word of "Mr. Magic Masonic Mormon Underpants" himself (as the commenter put it)...

Magic Mormon Underwear!?!

Look, I'm just reporting on the FACTS here people.

I'm sorry, but something just doesn't feel right about praising Beck for organizing a "Christian" rally because how in the world can someone who doesn't share my faith ever organize anything "Christian" when his views are not completely consistent with the basic, fundamental tenets of that same faith?

Just because Mormons believe in Jesus Christ DOES NOT make them Christians. Even Muslims believe in Jesus as a prophet as recorded throughout their Koran. Are they Christians too?

The truth of Hosea 4:6 was never more plain and on full display than it was this past weekend in Washington, DC, or the occult capitol of the US. God help us!

"Restore Honor", huh? No, not like this. Not for me.

Do We Have An Eschatological Expectation?

Posted by Jeffrey K Radt ("JRed") | Posted in , , , , , , , , , , , | Posted on Friday, August 27, 2010

What do you think about this post from Believer's Journey?

Apocalyptic Eschatology
by Art Katz

I have an outline of certain last days’ events, but there is no way that I can adhere to a linear statement or discussion. You will find that I will keep coming back to certain themes in the interweaving of strands that make up the whole.

These are the last days, and I have a view of the faith that can be called “apocalyptic.” Apocalyptic means the “actual revealing,” but it is accompanied by violence, chaos, disorder, collisions between light and darkness, and the shaking of all things that can be shaken. It will be a convulsive time, very akin to birthing. Out of the death gasp of the world as we have known it historically, there is to be birthed the millennial age and the glory of another kingdom and the coming of God to this earth at a point in time. But the Gentile nations, who are ruled over by the principalities and powers of the air, will not want to “give up the ghost” without a last struggle against the coming rule of God.

In a generation that has seen the prosperity gospel, name-it-and-claim-it, and all of that, this view is completely contrary, both in spirit and tenor, to what is currently celebrated in the church. To bring an apocalyptic end-time perspective will be both an unwelcome task and one in which our reward will not be great with men. It will be resisted, not only by church traditions, but also by those who have played with the language of the last days as a kind of fad. There is a way that we can talk about the last days, and make of it another novelty, but when the prophetic reality of the last days breaks through, it might even be resisted by those who have only given lip service to the concept of it. It would require a magnitude of anointing to express this perspective and a character to bear the rejection, the reproach, the resistance, and the misunderstanding. You will be called a doomsayer and negative—just as those who emphasize righteousness will be called legalists. You will have epithets directed at you, which if you are thin-skinned and thinking of yourself in a self-conscious spirituality, you will go down like a deck of cards. You will collapse at the very first blast.

Can you imagine what kind of preparation it will take to fit and form men for that task? What will God employ in shaping the character and life to wean them from any necessity to be approved? It requires the deepest work of the cross in order to be faithful in that calling. And yet, if it does not come, what hope have we for the church?

As it is a crisis unto death, no aspect of the biblical faith will be left untouched. This requires us to examine the totality of the biblical faith. The prophetic burden, hope, judgment, the millennial age, eschatology, and everything that is part of the faith is called into a re-examination. For the unprepared, it may mean the forfeiture of the faith in an end-time apostasy. For those who have not been willing to re-examine their faith in the light of the things that will be happening, it may mean the loss of their faith. At the same time, and by the very same factors, an entry into the depths of the understanding of the knowledge of God is available, that fits us not only to stand in that hour, but to be fitted for the millennial glories that follow. In other words, the same events for some will mean the loss of faith, but for others, who are prepared, it will mean an increase in the depth of faith and in the knowledge of God. Everything depends upon how we view the apocalyptic conclusion of the age. Is our view based on the glory of God, and that these are the final last days’ convulsions that must precede it? Will we count it a privilege to participate in whatever is required to that end because we see the eternal reward? Are we jealous for a God who has been blasphemed all these ages, and rejected from the counsels of men, now coming into history, intervening, revealing Himself, acting in a powerful way, both in judgment and mercy, that precedes the final appearing of Himself in His own Person to rule and reign forever?

In Colossians, we read that Jesus “disarmed the powers.” In other words, He did not inflict a final defeat. That is left for church. When it takes place, the whole fallen, angelic realm will be cast out of their heavenly, governmental places. Who will replace them? I believe it will be those who make up that “fullness of the Gentiles” spoken of in Romans 11. We know that the purpose of this church age is to “find a people for His name from among all nations” (Acts 15:14), and I believe that there is an actual number. And that God is preparing and fitting believers for rule, that we shall rule and reign with Him from the heavenly places. We are God’s substitute for the fallen angels, in my opinion. It does not say that in so many words. I cannot show you explicit scriptures, but I put together a clue here and a clue there. And one of the most profound clues is in 1 Corinthians 6. Paul was outraged to find two believers going to a court of the law of the world to resolve a dispute among themselves. He said, “What are you doing? Don’t you know that you are going to rule over angels and nations?” (Paraphrased). In other words, it seems that they didn’t know that they were being prepared for an eternal, governmental place.

It says in Revelation 21 that when the Lord comes, He brings His reward with Him to give to each man according to his works. This incentive is little understood in the modern-day church, and that is why it is essentially content with mere church attendance. But our works that will pass through the fire of judgment, that will not be made of hay, wood and stubble, but of precious stones, will earn for us an eternal distinction in the government of God. Eternal reward is a crown and a distinction relative to our place in the millennial kingdom. Not everyone comes to the same place in the same proximity to the throne. Some are even cast out into the outer darkness, where there is a wailing and a gnashing of teeth. This may mean the unsaved and unregenerate, but will it also include those believers who have been shallow and conventional and superficial, who had no distinction in this life, whose works did not pass the fire but were hay, wood and stubble, or who had no works at all, and they were eternally fixed at a place less than what might have been theirs had they given themselves to the purposes of God?

Please read the whole thing and then share your thoughts here because those were just a few excerpts I selected to share.

I agree with most of it, but disagree with some of it. I'm curious to get a discussion going and to read everyone else's thoughts.

I'll conclude by asking the same question Mr Katz asked: Do we have an eschatological expectation?

Goddess Worship Preparing The World For The 'Lady Of All Nations'?

Posted by Jeffrey K Radt ("JRed") | Posted in , , , , , , , , , | Posted on Thursday, August 26, 2010

I saw this headline, picture, story, and video today...

Nepal's Living Goddess Goes On Pilgrimage

Living Goddess Kumari goes on a pilgrimage in Kathmandu August 26, 2010. The Kumari, a young pre-pubescent girl who is a manifestation of a Goddess, is worshipped by both Hindus and Buddhists in Nepal. The Kumari emerges from her temple only about 12 times a year for religious occasions.

The "Living Goddess" made a rare pilgrimage to the delight of both Buddhists (though not Tibetan Buddhists) and Hindus. "Kumari" literally means "virgin" in Sanskrit, Nepali, and other Indian languages and is a name of the goddess Durga as a child.

I know I don't have to remind you of all the instances of the word "virgin" in the King James Version of the Holy Bible -- 34 times in 33 verses -- many of which are found in the prophetic Books. But this isn't a Study In Symbolism today. It's merely a chance to emphasize a warning that's been given before.

2 Corinthians 11:2 (KJV) For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present [you as] a chaste virgin to Christ.

In Hinduism, "Durga" means "the inaccessible", or "the invincible", or "one who can redeem in situations of utmost distress". Durga is a form of Devi, the supremely radiant goddess, depicted as having 10 arms, riding a lion or a tiger, carrying weapons and a lotus flower, maintaining a meditative smile, and practicing mudras, or symbolic hand gestures.

She is thus considered the fiercer, demon-fighting form of Shiva's wife. Durga is the warrior aspect of the Divine Mother. As a goddess, Durga's feminine power contains the energies of the gods. Each of her weapons was gifted to her by various gods: Rudra's trident, Vishnu's discus, Indra's thunderbolt, Brahma's kamandalu, Kuber's Ratnahar, etc. The spear and trident are her most common weapons.

The legend states that Durga was created as a warrior goddess to fight an "asura" (an inhumane force/demon) named Mahishasur. He had unleashed a reign of terror on Earth, Heaven, and the nether worlds, and he could not be defeated by any man or god, anywhere. Now she had come to fight the demon to save the gods.

I want to share with you, word-for-word, some of the phrasing used to describe her and this legend of her encounter with this demon from the Wikipedia site...

"It is said that upon initially encountering Durga, Mahishasura underestimated her, thinking: 'How can a woman kill me, Mahishasur — the one who has defeated the trinity of gods?' However, Durga roared with laughter, which caused an earthquake which made Mahishasur aware of her powers.

And the terrible Mahishasur rampaged against her, changing forms many times. First he was a buffalo demon, and she defeated him with her sword. Then he changed forms and became an elephant that tied up the goddess's lion and began to pull it towards him. The goddess cut off his trunk with her sword. The demon Mahishasur continued his terrorizing, taking the form of a lion, and then the form of a man, but both of them were gracefully slain by Durga.

Then Mahishasur began attacking once more, starting to take the form of a buffalo again. The patient goddess became very angry, and as she sipped divine wine from a cup she smiled and proclaimed to Mahishasur in a colorful tone — 'Roar with delight while you still can, O illiterate demon, because when I will kill you after drinking this, the gods themselves will roar with delight'. When Mahashaur had half emerged into his buffalo form, he was paralyzed by the extreme light emitting from the goddess's body. The goddess then resounded with laughter before cutting Mahishasur's head down with her sword.

Thus Durga slew Mahishasur, thus is the power of the fierce compassion of Durga. Hence, Mata Durga is also known as Mahishasurmardhini — the slayer of Mahishasur. According to one legend, the goddess Durga created an army to fight against the forces of the demon-king Mahishasur, who was terrorizing Heaven and Earth. After ten days of fighting, Durga and her army defeated Mahishasur and killed him."

Does that sound like any other "divine feminine being" gaining in prominence and being worshipped more and more these days? It should.

Many people laughed and scoffed at my assertions made in May's Right Now Radio Special Report titled "What Every Catholic (And Christian) Needs To Know" on the role of "Mary Worship" in these end times and how it would play a SIGNIFICANT role in the fulfillment of some last days prophecies.

Almost all of the apparitions have stated that Mary is going to usher in a new era of peace and unity. Under her mantle ALL PEOPLE will gather in peace to solve the problems facing the world. Her emphasis on unity and ecumenism cannot be disputed (or understated).

In that broadcast, I presented a wealth of information to prove how this Mary Worship is not something that reserved for just Roman Catholics as we've allowed ourselves to believe. In fact, Mary is mentioned no less than 34 times in the Koran. In addition, the 19th Surah (chapter) of the Koran is named after Mary! It is also interesting to note that in the Koran, Jesus is almost exclusively referred to as "Jesus son of Mary", which is something to be mindful of. More important to our context, Mary is arguably more highly honored than Jesus in the Koran and in the Muslim world. The Muslims, like the Catholics, refer to her as "Our Lady" and she is also venerated as a pure and holy saint in the Islamic world.

Now, keep in mind that there are also hundreds of millions of people in the world today (like those in the story that started this entry) who believe in the gods and goddesses of Eastern religion. It is intriguing to note that Buddhists, Hindus, Native Americans, New Agers, and other similar groups already emphasize goddess worship and the earth as our living, breathing "Mother" too. These groups teach that all religions are similar and that we must unite to solve the myriad of problems facing mankind.

I truly believe that a story like the one highlighted about is just more proof that we are well on the way to the fulfillment of end times prophecy.

The Book of Revelation warns about a counterfeit religious system. Bible-believing Christians call this global religion the counterfeit bride. John labelled this false church "the Harlot", and the Scriptures also indicate the Harlot is associated with a "Queen" too!

Furthermore, John is not the only one who saw that there was a Queen and that this Queen would be judged for the whole world to see at the end of the age. The prophet Isaiah also warned about a deceiving woman called the "virgin daughter of Babylon" who would be judged by God. Those same passages also refer to her as "The Lady of Kingdoms" too!

Folks, there's so much more to this study. If you still doubt such warnings, then you're just not paying attention. For instance, The Watcher's Lamp published a post recently that reported on how the Virgin Mary appeared on BBC Television...

Virgin Mary Appears On BBC TV

This is a segment that appeared on the Wednesday 18th 2010 edition of BBC'S Newsnight programme (Newsnight is a BBC Television current affairs news programme noted for its in-depth analysis). Allan Little heads to the village of Medjugorje in Bosnia-Hercegovina, where many believe the Virgin Mary appears daily...

As incredible as that is, it pales in comparison to this other news that broke around the same time...

Rosary Crusade For The Fifth Marian Dogma

But where there is great darkness, there are also the shadows of the great light which is approaching. The infinitely merciful Jesus seeks to renew the earth through a new descent of the Holy Spirit, as brought forth through our spiritual mother. The ultimate remedy for our global state of emergency is direct intercession from Heaven. We urgently need Our Blessed Mother, who brings us the graces of the Son and the renewal of the Spirit.

It is for this reason that we now initiate a year-long Rosary crusade for the fifth Marian Dogma - - that the Holy Father will solemnly define that the Blessed Virgin Mary is the Spiritual Mother of All Peoples as the Co-redemptrix, Mediatrix of all graces and Advocate.

Although Mary’s Spiritual Motherhood of all humanity is already the official teachings of the Church’s Magisterium, the solemn definition of this truth by our beloved Pope Benedict XVI will allow Our Lady to exercise fully and in an unprecedented manner her God-given intercessory powers for her human children in our present state of severe global crisis.

Our Mother’s titles of Co-redemptrix, Mediatrix of all graces and Advocate are her functions for humanity. When they are solemnly defined by the Roman Pontiff, the bearer of the Keys of the Kingdom (cf. Mt. 16:15-20), then and only then will the Co-redemptrix and Mediatrix of all graces intercede for the historic graces of redemption and peace promised at places like Fatima, which will in turn definitively initiate the Triumph of her most Immaculate Heart and an eventual “era of peace” (cf. July 13, 1917 Fatima message).

We therefore humbly beg you, in Our Lady’s name, to join us in this worldwide Rosary crusade for the fifth Marian Dogma, which begins on August 15, 2010, the anniversary of the most recently proclaimed Marian dogma of Our Lady’s Assumption. We ask you to persevere with us throughout the year in daily praying the Rosary for this fifth and final Marian Dogma. Through this Rosary Crusade, we earnestly pray that our beloved Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, will soon proclaim that the Immaculate Virgin Mary is truly the Spiritual Mother of all humanity, as a gift given to us all by our Crucified Savior from the cross, “Behold, your mother” (Jn. 19:27).

Along with the daily Rosary, we also encourage you to pray daily the Prayer of the Lady of All Nations, given by Our Lady for the proclamation of the fifth Dogma in the ecclesiastically approved apparitions in Amsterdam (local approval, May 31, 2002). You may also add the prayer below for the fifth Marian Dogma.

I know. I wouldn't believe it unless I read it with my own eyes too.

It's so heartbreaking to see so many people held captive in fortresses of darkness, dead in trespasses and sin, rushing headlong into condemnation and judgment over this False Idol worship! This is just more of the usual conditioning and "Predictive Programming" I'm afraid -- so don't fall for it!

For the REAL truth about the the dangerous demonic deception behind the Marian Apparitions taking place with growing frequency all around the world please LISTEN TO THIS.

Pray for the Lord to open the spiritual eyes and ears of those who are caught up in this False Idol worship before it's too late for them to repent of their sins.

We're getting close. Keep looking up!

BREAKING NEWS: A Special Announcement

Posted by Jeffrey K Radt ("JRed") | Posted in , , , , , , , , , | Posted on Thursday, August 26, 2010

We're coming to you LIVE with a very brief bit of Breaking News.

No, don't worry, you didn't miss anything in the news today, but there's still a very special announcement that I would like to make for the Look Up Fellowship/Right Now Radio audience.

Let me preface this NOTHING we do in this life should ever be about us. What I mean is that ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that we do, say, and think in this life is for (should be for) our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ's glory, honor, and praise (Colossians 3:17; Colossians 3:23).

It's for that reason -- and that reason alone -- why I decided to accept the following invitation, and responded with a prayer for the Lord to use me in some small way (even though He certainly doesn't need me or my help) to spread the truth to a world that desperately needs to hear it.

Please prayerfully consider attending. I'd love to meet another brother or sister in Christ and to say "Thank You!" for all of your constant prayers and support since the beginning of this humble online ministry.

Repentance -- Notable Quotable

Posted by Jeffrey K Radt ("JRed") | Posted in , , , , , , , , | Posted on Thursday, August 26, 2010

I was thinking about Repentance and its necessity for Salvation...

Luke 24:47 (KJV) And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Of course, this is one of MANY places in the Bible where Repentance is mentioned. Isn't it funny (heartbreaking really) how despite that fact, there are far too many in Christianity today who don't preach Repentance?

Such a thought reminded me of this quote...

"There are many who speak only of the forgiveness of sin, but who say little or nothing about repentance. If there is nevertheless no forgiveness of sins without repentance, so also forgiveness of sins cannot be understood without repentance. Therefore, if forgiveness of sins is preached without repentance, it follows that the people imagine they have already received the forgivness of sins, and thereby they become cocksure and fearless, which is then greater error and sin than all the error that preceded our time."

-- Melanchthon

Like I said, these historical quotes from Bible scholars are nice, but the Word of God is so much better and has so much more to say (and choose from!)...

Acts 17:30 (KJV) And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

To emphasize what the Lord is saying here in the above verse, please read this...

"If my six-year-old daughter was out on the road playing in front of my house and I saw a huge truck barreling around the corner, what would I do in that moment? Out of my love for my daughter I would not gently invite her to step away from the street. I would COMMAND her to change her direction, and get off the road! Why? Because of my love for her. I know that the truck would not be able to stop in time and it would run her over and kill her. The same is true of the Father's love for us. Out of His love, He commands us to repent, because at any moment the truck of sin and death could run us over for playing on the road of rebellion!"

-- Rob Price

Now, without getting too in-depth here, the above cultural reference is a little misleading because Repentance isn't "turning from sins" (merely "getting off the road"), but it means "to change one's mind" (more like "never playing on the road ever again") instead. Sure, some will say that both are the same thing. Not quite. "Turning from sins" is actually a RESULT of "changing one's mind", or the RESULT of repentance.

For more commentary on this very important subject, please pick up a copy of the Holy Bible and read it (mainly the Book of Acts, but definitely do a word search for the words "repent" and "repentance" and enjoy!), or you can also listen to the most recent podcast of I Want To Believe Radio called "What Is Repentance?" where we explored this topic in great detail.

God bless you and keep looking up!

Fearing God, Or Trying To Be God?

Posted by Jeffrey K Radt ("JRed") | Posted in , , , , , , , , | Posted on Thursday, August 26, 2010

I pray this has the intended effect on everyone who reads it...

The difference between fearing God, and trying to be God:

It only surfaces when God crosses your will, or your preferred way of thinking.

The God-fearer says, “God differs from me; I must be wrong, and I must change.”

The God-wannabe says, “God differs from me; He must be wrong, and I must change Him.”

China Plane Crash, FengHuang/Phoenix, Odysseus/Ulysses, Duality In Scripture?

Posted by Jeffrey K Radt ("JRed") | Posted in , , , , , , , , , , , | Posted on Tuesday, August 24, 2010

First, an admission, and a word of caution. Even though I've opened the last few "Studies In Symbolism" pieces with this type of introduction, I can assure you that this one is much different.

Yes, I know that studies in symbolism are highly subjective, and that can be dangerous. I get that. I also realize that this world can be distracting and that Satan will use whatever he can to keep us from doing the things that we should be doing; from setting our minds on the things that we should be setting our minds on.

At the same time, while we are not of this world, we're still in it. Personally, I want to try and point to the things going on in this world (even if they're HIGHLY SYMBOLIC in nature and open to one's own unique interpretation) and demonstrate not only how it MIGHT BE connected to the Bible's end times prophecies, but also WHAT IT WAS IN GOD'S WORD that it forced me to think about.

My thinking is the same as it's been since day one a little over 2 years ago in these parts. If I'm clear about this being MY ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF SIGNS AND SYMBOLS IN POP CULTURE AND THE WORLD AROUND US AS I PERCEIVE THEM (as opposed to it being a "Thus sayeth the Lord..." type of pronouncement), and if such a study ultimately gets me to spend even more time watching and praying for Jesus' return, let alone more time in the Word studying it, then how bad can a process like this be?

From now on, I'll always feel it is necessary to openly state these things for anyone who's new to Look Up Fellowship, or for the rest of you who still have a problem with these kinds of Studies In Symbolism (if that's you, then you might also want to re-read what is written about what we do here in the "What We Believe" section of this website on the right hand side of the page).

An apology is in order. I used to think that it's almost as if the good Lord is pulling out all the stops to "give us a head's up" about what's coming -- what's imminent -- and that He's putting these messages in all the things that we've sadly allowed to become False Idols in our lives like art, comics, music, movies, politics, pop culture, TV, and sports to name a few. Why? Because we've stopped reading His Word and therefore many of us are clueless about what we're told about what to expect in the coming last days.

How do I arrive at such a thought? Well, I know from what I read in the Bible that the Lord does, in fact, speak to us (and reveal Himself to us) through His creation. I reasoned, "What are art, comics, music, movies, politics, pop culture, TV, and sports except an extension, or a part, of His creation?" and so that's why I was ok thinking that.

I also used to think that because of what we read in 2 Peter 3:9 (amongst other places) about God's character and love, that that somehow meant that perhaps He was using those aforementioned "extensions" of His creation because He was "desperately trying to get our attention" since we were giving Him the time of day.

That sounds good, right? It makes sense. But it's not Biblical. I couldn't find any verses that made me feel comfortable making such claims, or even insinuating such claims to all of you any longer. Lord, have mercy on me for I have sinned! See, besides, once I began to study the Sovereignty of God, as well as the Doctrines of Grace, I realized that to hold on to any kind of position that said that God was speaking to us through such things because "He was desperately trying to get our attention..." renders Almighty God impotent! It takes away His sovereignty and puts it squarely in the hands of humanity! To make such a vile assertion is to make it sound like He's just sitting up there on His throne, fingers crossed, hoping that we're "finally get it" and "come to our senses" before it's too late. That flies in the face of all the passages in Scripture that speak to His sovereignty and grace. How wrong I was! No, He's not involved in any of this. Not in the way that I have suggested for far too long. I can admit that. Please forgive me.

So, where do we go from here then? First, I want to redefine my position here for the record when it comes to Studies In Symbolism that you will find on LUF from this moment on. From this point forward, whenever I use the headlines, images, memes, stories, symbols, and themes we find in the world around us, it will ONLY be to use them as a starting point for a study on end times Bible prophecy (in the sense that "this made me think of this today..."), and it will NEVER be with the caveat, "Hmmm...Maybe God is trying to get our attention and trying to tell us something, huh?" because that's not right.

Let me clarify. Yes, God is speaking to us, and many of us aren't paying attention or listening at all. I'm also not saying that He doesn't speak to us through events that He orchestrates. I'm just saying that I'm personally going to "take it down a notch" when it comes to stating with any kind of authority that I "know" that this is what He's doing for certain. Who am I to claim such things? I'm nobody!

Let's begin by using the Word of God as our foundation before proceeding with today's study...

Matthew 10:16 (KJV) Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

Ephesians 5:11 (KJV) And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

Proverbs 25:2 (KJV) It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

Luke 21:36 (KJV) Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Matthew 10:28 (KJV) And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Luke 21:28 (KJV) And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Another plane crash? Come on now! Seriously, I thought that flying by plane was the safer form of travel in this world. I was right too. This is from an article published here last July 2009 called "153 Lies In The Skies"...

Let's consider the FACTS about plane crashes in general:

According to statistics from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), there were an average of 36 plane accidents between 1998 and 2007. Plane accidents are defined as follows from the NTSB...

"Major - an accident in which any of three conditions is met: a Part 121 aircraft was destroyed, or there were multiple fatalities, or there was one fatality and a Part 121 aircraft was substantially damaged."

"Serious - an accident in which at least one of two conditions is met: there was one fatality without substantial damage to a Part 121 aircraft, or there was at least one serious injury and a Part 121 aircraft was substantially damaged. "

"Injury - a nonfatal accident with at least one serious injury and without substantial damage to a Part 121 aircraft."

"Damage - an accident in which no person was killed or seriously injured, but in which any aircraft was substantially damaged."

Interesting, isn't it? Only 36 within a 9 year period? We've seen several high-profile events already in 2009, and we're only halfway through the year. How do we explain that? Furthermore, how do we explain the various anomalies that seem to be consistent from case to case even those plane crashes that happen with international airlines in foreign parts of the world?

Surely, there has to be a connection if not merely an explanation for all of this. I beg you to tell me that you recall a time in your life when so much was happening above in the skies in such a short span of a few weeks and months. I don't think you could! Furthermore, I always thought that it was safer to travel by plane than any other mode of transportation (and that you were more likely to die in a car accident than a plane crash):

Are we witnessing the beginning stages of some kind of coming, paradigm shifting event? If so, why? More importantly, what is it? Incidents with passenger planes (especially plane crashes) are typically rare, but you'd never know it from reading the news from just the past few months alone. Plus, the strange and unusual circumstances involved with each event seems to indicate something else is in the works here than them all just being "accidents." So, what's going on?

Whatever the "real" explanation to all of these cases is, there's no denying that something strange is going on right under our noses, and I can't help but to wonder how this may (or may not) connect to end times prophecy. I may not be an "expert" per se, but it doesn't take a Rocket Scientist to possess common sense, or to be able to discern the truth from the cold, hard facts surrounding this story and others like it that may have a connection. You just have to be willing to accept what you find at face value without omitting it outright because it doesn't fit nicely into the little box of "The-Way-The-World-Is-Supposed-To-Work" reality you've created and lived in for so long.

It's important to start there considering where we'll be going.

Today, we read about yet another mysterious plane crash. I write "mysterious" because according to initial reports we're told that the plane "overshot the runway" and then suddenly "burst into flames", which happens quite a bit, right? Other reports are saying that the plane "broke apart as it approached the fog-shrouded runway", which also makes sense because fog always cause high-tech passengers planes to just "break apart" on final approach and landing.

What!?! That doesn't make any sense does it? Am I the only one thinking this and asking these questions whenever the details emerge regarding these plane crashes and their "cause" lately? Am I missing something here, or do they just think that we're all that stupid to believe anything they tell us?

Chinese State TV Says 48 Rescued After Plane Crash

Chinese state television said 48 people were rescued Tuesday after a plane with 91 people crashed while landing at an airport in the country's northeast. The fate of the remaining passengers was unclear.

The official Xinhua News Agency said
the Henan Airlines plane overshot the runway in Heilongjiang province's Yichun city and burst into flames. Xinhua said more than 20 people had been hospitalized.

A China Central Television reporter at the scene did not say what happened to the others on the plane. CCTV quoted Sun Bangnan, deputy director of the Heilonjiang Public Security Department, as saying 48 people had been rescued and that the fire had been put out.
The plane had taken off from Heilongjiang's capital of Harbin shortly before 9 p.m. (1300 GMT) and crashed a little more than an hour later.

Henan Airlines is based in the central Chinese province of the same name and flies smaller regional jets, mainly on routes in north and northeast China. Previously known as Kunpeng Airlines, the carrier was relaunched as Henan Airlines earlier this year.

Why is this becoming a WEEKLY occurrence and tragedy lately?

Some would suggest electromagnetic changes, being caused by earth and/or planetary changes, as the culprit, which could conceivably cause on-board instruments to not work properly if not fail altogether. Think about the film Knowing and how in the run-up to the catastrophic Solar Flare there was that plane crash, subway accident, and train derailment.

Some might suggest that it's a carefully orchestrated build-up to the revelation that there are "Aliens/UFOs" out there, and some of them want to kill us, and that this is a bit of "Predictive Programming" toward the "Us-Vs-Them" construct.

Some might suggest that these are The-Powers-That-Be (the Bible calls them the "kings of the earth") testing their Black-Ops technology (perhaps some kind of secret Space-Based Weapon like NASA's X-37B?) for some unknown purpose if not to simply cause death and destruction in honor of their god Lucifer/Satan.

Some might suggest these are nothing but horrible accidents; tragedies that have no rhyme or reason. After all, accidents do happen.

Who knows that the real answer is, but I believe I have found a common link between all of these plane crashes (or near miss incidents). All of them seem to have taken place just a short distance before the final approach and/or before reaching their destination/the runway. I'm not sure if that means anything, but it is an observation I've made and the only common link I can find. Although lately these planes seem to be breaking apart for no reason, and bursting into flames that is taking several hours to put out so that might be something too.

Regardless of the camp you find yourself in, as we've highlighted at the outset of this piece, plane crashes are growing in frequency, and they're also involving some pretty unusual sets of circumstances too. That should raise some eyebrows and prompt us to take a closer look.

I'd be lying if I said that I was "surprised" to learn that Henan Airlines (named changed in 2009 and originally formed as a joint venture between "Kunpeng Airlines" and "Shenzhen Airlines", and also the airlines involved in today's tragedy) has its name DERIVED from a mythical Chinese bird called "Fenghuang", or the "Chinese Phoenix" to us Westerners.

In ancient and modern Chinese culture, they can often be found in the decorations for weddings or royalty, along with dragons. This is because the Chinese considered the dragon and phoenix symbolic of blissful relations between husband and wife, another common yin and yang metaphor.

In some traditions it appears in good times but hides during times of trouble, while in other traditions it appeared only to mark the beginning of a new era. Keep this in mind a little later when we look at how Ancient Greek Mythology came up today too.

The airline's livery is made up of red, white, and gold...

Oh yeah, I almost forgot! Get this! The Fenghuang is also known in China as the "August Rooster", which begs the question...

What in the world are the odds of a plane crashing in the month of August involving an airlines company -- one that has never had a single crash before in their ENTIRE history -- that has as its logo/name a derivative of the very same mythological creature that is also called the 'August Rooster', or a name that contains the actual month that such a crash occurred!?!

As if all of that weren't crazy enough, the Chinese airline (until June 2009; the same year it was renamed from Henan Airlines) flew Bombardier CRJ200 aircraft which were leased from the recently bankrupt Mesa Air Group.

Even though it's a Nevada Corporation, Mesa has its headquarters in a city that features another mythical bird (one that's much more prominent) -- none other than Phoenix, AZ!

Nice to see our old friend "Pagan Sun Symbolism" accounted for her too, huh? A quick reminder that whenever we see the "Sun" like this we should NEVER think that somehow is a reference to the Son Himself.

As of June 2009, Mesa Air Group has sold its financial stake in Shenzhen/Kunpeng/Henan Airlines and all the leased CRJ 200's have been returned to the US. Even so, what are the odds of such a symbolic link like that between the two mythical birds that represent "rebirth" and "resurrection" and a "new era" that "rises up from the ashes" like this?

For those who don't know, the Phoenix is A VERY IMPORTANT SYMBOL to those aggressively trying to establish a New World Order on this planet. Very important to the whole "Order Out of Chaos" thing too.

Anyway, since Henan is also the name of a Province in China, I checked to see if there was anything about that province's history that caught my eye. Yes, indeed there was!

In recent years, the prevalence of "blood selling" (blood donation with pay) among poor villagers has put Henan in the spotlight of the nation. It was exposed that AIDS villages, where most of the population is HIV positive, have resulted because of poor sterilization techniques. The initial cover up of the crisis by local officials, followed by the national exposure, has put Henan in a somewhat negative light.

"Blood Selling", huh? Nothing symbolic about blood to us Christians, is there? I'm being facetious, of course, but isn't it something that we have this idea of "buying and selling" blood come up today? Why? Well, because it made me think of these...

Isaiah 52:3 (KJV) For thus saith the LORD, Ye have sold yourselves for nought; and ye shall be redeemed without money.

1 Corinthians 6:20 (KJV) For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

1 Corinthians 7:23 (KJV) Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.

Acts 8:20 (KJV) But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.

Acts 20:28 (KJV) Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Ephesians 1:7 (KJV) In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Romans 3:25 (KJV) Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

1 Peter 1:18-19 (KJV) Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Revelation 5:9 (NIV) And they sang a new song: "You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.

'Nuff said.

I also found that in November 2004, Martial Law was declared in Zhongmou county, Henan, to quell deadly ethnic clashes between Han Chinese and the Muslim Hui Chinese. The reported number of deaths ranged between 7 and 148. Interesting that this would come up right now while this nation is in the midst of growing tensions between Americans and Muslims given the whole "Mosque-On-Ground-Zero" debate (which is more appropriately "Mosque-Near-Ground-Zero"). Unreal!

It was at this point when I wondered about the likelihood that the pre-9/11 1998 movie The Siege had some "Predictive Programming" in there for us, and whether or not it would become a reality soon here in 2010 (12 years later) with all that's going on...

The Siege Trailer

I pray it doesn't come to that any time soon, but I know better.

What else? There was even a nod to Ancient Greek Mythology today in the news. A Greek Archeologist discovered Odysseus's palace in Ithaca. Odysseus, or Ulysses, was a legendary Greek king of Ithaca and the hero of Homer's epic poem the Odyssey. Odysseus also plays a key role in Homer's Iliad and other works in the Epic Cycle.

Renowned for his guile and resourcefulness, he is known by the epithet "Odysseus the Cunning" (or "cunning intelligence"). He is most famous for the 10 eventful years he took to return home after the 10-year Trojan War, and his famous Trojan Horse trick.

The remains matched the description of Odysseus's palace in Homer's Odyssey, reputedly written around the 8th century BC. What I want to say about all of this is how the academic, largely secular world, shows their utter hypocrisy whenever it comes to stories like this. How? Because it's intellectually dishonest of them to BLINDLY ACCEPT these finds at face value (dated from 800 BC) whenever they occur, and yet they'll IMMEDIATELY REJECT other "religious" discoveries (like the recent news that relics and remains of John The Baptist were found).

Let's stick with Odysseus/Ulysses for a moment. He is often equated with "political mediation" believe it or not. Here's what one scholar wrote about him...

In contrast, Odysseus comes down to us from classical times in two different versions: whereas the wise, pious, courageous, much suffering hero of the Homeric poems stands as a defining example of what is greatest in humanity, he appears in Vergil as the archetypal trickster and betrayer. The ambiguities of this figure are not simply a matter of whether he appears as Odysseus or Ulysses — not that is merely a matter of Greek or Roman traditions — since Sophocles' Philoctetes already presents him as a dishonourable cheater willing to blame his superiors for his acts. Similarly, Plato, who variously presents Odysseus as both a good and an evil man, describes him as false and wily in the Lesser Hippias. It is this darker Odysseus who appears in Vergil and Dante and to whom Hugo refers in the opening lines of "Apres avoir lu les lettres a l'inconnue": "Cela ne change pas beaucoup, la turpitude./ Ulysse peut tromper Polypheme." Since ancient times men have manipulated The Odyssey to convey their own conceptions of human existence. Odysseus is, above all the man who would return home, and his longing for Ithaka has long been taken as a figure of every mall's desires for spiritual bliss.

This desire to return to that place where a man may be truly himself and truly at home has long been taken to be a defining and even archetypal human characteristic. Since late classical times commentators like Porphyry have allegorized The Odyssey, turning its hero into a figure for the soul of Everyman.2 As Plotinus argues in the [146/147] sixth tractate ("On Beauty") of the first Ennead, we should flee the snares of material beauty and seek to reach the beloved Fatherland.

Clearly, some of the post-Homeric versions of Odysseus present a less than heroic figure simply because they remove him from his original context and surround him with alien ideologies. The Odyssey, which draws a picture of a man possessing almost all human virtue, portrays the much suffering, brave wanderer as not only steadfast and courageous but also actively heroic. Odysseus, who is a great athlete and a great warrior, is also intellectually curious, cunning, and eloquent. At the same time, he is pious, for even in times and places of great scarcity he sacrifices to the Gods. He is also masterful...

Odysseus, skilled in words, has occasionally also been used as a figure for the poet. Heroically living and questing without the comforts of religious belief, this symbol of the seeker, as Stevens terms him, knows that his only source of truth must be 'the sibyl of the self . . . whose diamond . . . IS poverty' ('The Sail of Ulysses').

Does that remind you of anyone we know on the political stage today? Anyone at all?

That's odd too in light of how Odysseus/Ulysses is connected to "political mediation" especially with what's coming up on September 2, 2010 in Washington DC. Now, think back to earlier in this column when I asked you to hold on to all the symbolism associated with the Chinese mythological bird call Fenghuang, and how it too symbolized the beginning of a new era to them.

Of course, that prompted me to consider the symbols -- if any -- normally associated with Odysseus/Ulysses. Man, I didn't expect to find what I found.

For Odysseus, I found that in The Odyssey, he's the only one who can use the bow. Odysseus’ bow was a gift that only he would be able to bend and string for shooting. It symbolizes Odysseus’ right to be king of Ithaca by using it to reclaim his kingdom. This instantly made me think of the coming Antichrist, the one who comes when the First Seal is opened and the White Horse rides with his bow, in Revelation 6:1-2.

Do I need to remind you of what we just discovered in last week's "Apollo's Arrow, Apollyon And 'The Destroyer' Wormwood Cometh, Middle East Tensions, Psalm 83/Ezekiel 38-39, And The Imminent Rise Of The Antichrist?" because it looks like that was the Preamble to this entry.

Next up, check out the "Ulysses Butterfly", but before you do please recall our previous Studies In Symbolism that have examined the color Blue and even Australia...

For centuries, the butterfly has been the symbol for new life, and there are many things written about why this is so. The most popular seems to be the partial death of the caterpillar before it emerges totally transformed into a glorious ethereal butterfly.

The Ulysses Butterfly, also known as the "Blue Mountain Butterfly", or the "Blue Mountain Swallowtail", is a large swallowtail from northeastern Australia (eastern Queensland), New Guinea, the Moluccas, Bismarck Archipelago, and northwestern Solomons.

Let's see...

> Ulysses = Worshipped as a god
> Butterfly = Change/Transformation = New Life/New Creature
> The Color Blue = Azure Blue?
> Mountain = Mount Olympus?
> Queensland = Queens? Goddesses?
> Archipelago = Galápagos Islands = Darwin's Theory of Evolution?
> Solomons = Solomon?

It may be a bit too much, but after seeing how the Holy Spirit led us back to a December 2008 article last week that amazingly DIRECTLY CORRELATED with what was going on in the Middle East (despite being almost 2 years old), I recalled the one and only piece I did on Ulysses S. Grant and the apparent connection to President Obama's election.

One thing I absolutely have to mention here that I hope has become apparent. The theme contained within each and every one of these threads is DUALITY -- 2 names for Chinese airline involved in today's crash; FengHuang was traditionally thought to be made up of both a male and a female bird; FengHuang and the Phoenix are representations of the same thing; Odysseus and Ulysses are two names for the same individual; etc.

From a Biblical standpoint, there are the Elect and the non-Elect, or the believers and the non-believers, or the saved and the lost.

There's also what's known as "Duality of Prophecy" in God's Word. The principle of Duality is an element of prophecy that we have to be very careful about when attempting to interpret. Prophetic statements sometimes apply to more than one fulfillment; dual applications do exist. But at the same time, it can be a lure, trapping us into a wrong interpretation because God never intended every prophecy to have dual applications.

A prime example of Duality is Christ's First Coming to atone for our sins and His Second Coming to rule as King of Kings. Another clear dual application is Jesus' Olivet prophecy given in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21. Many of the conditions He predicts to befall Judea shortly after His ascension into Heaven are also forming for a repeat performance in our day. Often, we will read of "the day of the Lord" and perceive that it was fulfilled anciently. Then a few verses later, the "day of the Lord" will appear in a setting that could not possibly exist anciently but does now.

Hosea 11:1-12 is a prophecy made against ancient Israel, which was headed by the tribe of Ephraim. It too has modern relevance to Israel, but its application is complex, requiring that we believe that Biblical Israel -- the 10 northern tribes --still exists as modern nations. How far can we take its ancient application into our day or to a time yet future? Verse 1 appears in Matthew 2:15, applied to Christ, because Joseph, Mary, and Jesus had to flee to Egypt to escape Herod's persecution against them. When that was safely over, God brought them back to Palestine. This prophecy was fulfilled twice before the first century AD began! Is there yet another?

Hosea wrote this prophecy about 40 years before Israel went into captivity to Assyria. Since part of it has already been used in reference to Jesus, how much of it applies to modern Israel? All, just another verse or two, or most that remains? Is Assyria truly modern Germany, as some believe? Or is that a faulty interpretation? If it is Germany, will it fulfill exactly the same role a second time? The research of some leads them to believe Germany is actually a part of the 10 Lost Tribes of Israel!

We can see how risky it is to make assumptions and leap to conclusions. One must be careful when using Duality as a base. We must carefully examine the context of prophecies to understand their meaning and discern whether the prophecy seems incomplete after its first fulfillment. It is equally important to avoid reading Duality into passages that do not support such interpretation. So, we should take great care to properly discern whether Duality is a factor in any particular prophecy. Often we may recognize a prophecy's fulfillment only after it is well under way or already has taken place.

Maybe that's the point of this whole lengthy, in-depth study today. Maybe we're supposed to be mindful of this due to something that's coming up in the days, weeks, and months ahead. Let's take this to the Lord under prayerful consideration. Bottom line, the point I wanted to make is that just like how it's present in these news stories we've looked at together, today's study made me think of Duality's existence in the Holy Bible and as it uniquely pertains to end times prophecy.

In an attempt to come full circle, and to hopefully add an exclamation point on all of this, take a look at the most recent headline about this Chinese plane crash today...

Forty-Two Dead Found At Site Of China Plane Crash-Official

Aug 25 (Reuters) - Forty-two dead
have been found at the site of a passenger plane crash in northeast China late on Tuesday, a police officer told Chinese state television.

Sun Bangnan, a senior police officer in Heilongjiang province, said the corpses were found where the
Henan Airlines plane crashed at 10.10 pm (1410 GMT) in Yichun, a small city.

Yichun Vice Mayor Wang Xuemei earlier told Chinese television news that 49 of the 96 people on board had been taken to hospital, and three were seriously injured.

Fitting, right?

There are a total of 96 people on board, we got conflicting reports of both the dead and injured all day long, and now the FINAL AND OFFICIAL REPORT is that there were 42 fatalities as a result of this tragedy.

I pray I don't have to explain to you at length why the number 42 is quite significant to those of us who study end times Bible prophecy regularly, but just in case you're a "newbie" to all of this prophecy stuff, check out what E.W. Bullinger wrote about the number in his classic work...

Forty-Two is a number connected with Antichrist. An important part of his career is to last for 42 months (Rev 11:2, 13:5), and thus this number is fixed upon him. Another number of Antichrist is 1260, and this is 30 x 42.

Being a multiple of seven, it might be supposed that it would be connected with spiritual perfection. But it is the product of six times seven. Six, therefore, being the number of Man, and man's opposition to God, forty-two becomes significant of the working out of man's opposition to God.

There may be something more in the common phrase about things being all "sixes and sevens." They are so, indeed, when man is mixed up with the things of God, and when religious "flesh" engages in spiritual things.

It is a factor in the number of Nimrod's name, which is 294, or 42 x 7. It will be often found as a factor in the Antichristian names.

Isn't that something? See what I mean? How ridiculously CONSISTENT is that with the themes explored here today all from so-called "meaningless" and "random" events and news stories?

Lastly, I wonder if there's any symbolic significance (prophetic relevance) to the 60-mile long traffic jam in China due to construction that has forced life to come to a complete standstill.

Things are so bad that it's been this way for 10 days now, and the stranded drivers are playing cards and chess and buying food from mobile vendors to pass the time, which could be a while. The jam is set to last until construction ends next month!

I just keep thinking how if -- and I stress the word "IF" here -- we are on to something with all of this, then that seems extremely appropriate too. I mean, should the Rapture, or the fulfillment of Psalm 83, or Ezekiel 38-39, or some type of "Full Disclosure" event take place to kick-start the prophesied Tribulation, then it will be just like this traffic jam. It will be so paradigm-shifting that it will bring the entire world -- even the busiest cities in like Beijing -- to its knees in complete standstill!

I will conclude this exercise in heartbreaking awareness of what's going on in the world all around us by borrowing something I saw Art from New Wineskins write recently...

I will repeat, for the record, that the prophetic clarity around the upcoming second holocaust, initiating the Time of Jacob’s Trouble, aka the Great Tribulation, should in no way make us eager for its arrival, nor should anyone construe that I am in any way, shape or form advocating such a horrific thing. It is only the fact that this awful series of events presages the return of the Sole and Ultimate Redeemer that should give us a measure of joy.

Amen! Another day, more of the same.

Repent! Judgment is coming!

Keep looking up!
